My sweet little girl is 3! We have been talking to her about being 3 for 6 months now. She has been telling everyone I will be 3 in June. She was sooo excited about her birthday this year and it was really fun that she was old enough to understand.I love watching her grow and change as she gets older. Here are some things about her at 3:
*She is a good sleeper, still takes a nap around 1:00 and sleeps for 2 hours, sometimes more or less. She goes to bed easily and still waits for us to come and get her out of her bed when she wakes up from her nap or in the morning. She likes her routine! She HAS to sleep with these things and if in anyway it is not correct she cannot go to sleep: her dora nap mat-this is a mini nap mat she got for her baby dolls, but she sleeps on it, her baby doll, her bunny, a bottle of nail polish(yes its weird, no she has never tried to open it), and to be covered up with her purple blanket-these are all a must at nap and bedtime.
*Her eating habits vary from day to day, sometimes she eats great, sometimes not. She loves cheese, most any fruit, deli meat, any kind of bread, eggs, pasta, chicken nuggets, french fries, avocado, green beans, broccoli, potatoes, nuts, ice cream, chewing gum, candy, and lots of other things, but that's all I can think of for now
*She has a social personality-she always is saying-where are we going? and will my friends be there? Or she always wants to know who will be at the places we go to. She also seems to have a caring personality towards others and talks to children she doesn't know. She's always asking me-what's her name? to someone we see
*She loves to play. She is slowly getting better at playing by herself, but usually wants someone playing with her. Since Cruz came along, sometimes she doesn't have a choice! She loves to play hide-n-seek, build blocks, read to her stuffed animals, color, paint, play in her kitchen, read books, play hairdresser, play with Cruz, play dough, any arts and crafts, swing-the girl could swing all day!, jump on the trampoline, take walks, swim, and watch videos(she would watch them all day if we let her)
*She can be fickle, sometimes she will like things and sometimes she won't. She can also be a follower when she is around other kids, then other times she will be off doing her own thing when she around other kids.
*She loves to talk and talks my ear off all day! I love to talk too, but sometimes I'm even ready to stop talking :)
*She LOVES her dance class that she is taking right now and is doing so good in it. I'm hoping to put her in gymnastics in the fall and see how she likes that too
*She is always concerned if someone is upset and wants to comfort them
*She has developed quite the attitude! Whew! Time-out almost always works, spanking when needed. She hates to be put in timeout. As she has gotten older we are talking more about her behavior and why she got in trouble. Sometimes it clicks, sometimes not
*She always wants to help me do everything, can't wait till she is older and can actually really help :)!
*She loves her grandparents, cousins, & aunts/uncles and is always asking where they are and what they are doing
Madelyn-We are so proud of the sweet, strong willed, girl you have become. We are very blessed to have you as our little girl and look forward to seeing you grown more and more!
